CTCSS Filters Out Non-Desired Channel Transmissions (General Channel Users) From The Reception,; Only Receiving A Transmissions From A User With The Same Set CTCSS Code. This Is Very Useful In Areas Where Channels Are Over Used. Situations Like A Fly-In, Fair, Races, Special Events Are Places For Using The CTCSS Filtering.
Note, When The CTCSS Filter Option Is Used, The Transmission Is Still Hear By Anyone On That Channel. However, The People Using The Same CTCSS Setting, Will Enjoy Only Hearing Each Other, While The CTCSS Filters Out The Rest Of The Undesired transmissions On That Channel.
