• DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN TITANIUM BOLT.

  1. Use an even coat of grease or anti-seize compound to the titanium bolt threads and to the bolt head shoulder where it contacts the cup washer.

  2. Insert the Control Skewer bolt through the cup washer and through the large end of the included spring. Then insert the skewer bolt through the axle of the bicycle hub. ControlTech recommends placing the bolt-head on the left side of the front and rear hubs, but either side will work equally as well.

  3. Insert the other spring over the exposed bolt end, then thread on the nut and snug it tight by hand.

  4. Using a high-grade 5mm hex wrench, tighten the bolt securely. ControlTech Recommends A Maximum Torque of 10ft-lb. To Avoid Stripping the bolt-head threads, it is very important to:

     1. Use A high Grade 5mm Hex Wrench with No Rounded or Worn Corners. Throw out old and worn tools; they provided the invested amount of money as service; move on and reinvest in only high grade tools!

     2. Keep the wrench straight and fully engaged in the socket head

     3. Clean the bolt socket head to remove anything; before attempting to insert tool!
