In Early April 2007, We Received Our First Camera, For Our Evaluation.  At The Time Of The Trade Show, The Manufacturer Only Had Empty Camera Bodies To Show.  It Appeared At The Time The Camera Was Only A Concept With A Housing Made At That Point.  Since They Had No Working Models To Try At The trade Show, We Decided To Wait Until We Had a Chance To Evaluate An Actually Working Camera If It Ever Happen.  We Finally Received Our First Of Two Different Models.

The Company Announced Two Models, One Model Was Given A Stronger Camera Body With A Water-Depth Pressure Rating Of 40 Meter/130 Feet.  The Company Also Announced A Second Model With A Pressure Rating Of 23 Meters (75 Feet) Underwater.

Waterproofing Ratings ----  Waterproof Depth Ratings Are To Be Considered A Indicator To The Camera's Body Strength.  The Water Depth Rating Also Indicates These Cameras Were Designed For Use Underwater.  The Deeper The Water Depth Rating, The More Pressure The Housing Can Withstand; As Will The Watertight Seal.  Therefore, When Considering Which Model To Select, Consider The Chances Of The Camera Being Dropped From Heights And Being Covered By Heavy Gear.  In These Cases, It Is Recommend To Choose The Stronger Model For Travel, Boat Divers, And Active Sports Enthusiast.  Camera Body Strength As Well As Underwater Diving Limits, Are The Two Factors To Consider When Selecting A Model.

The Camera Was Easy To Pack Along In a Pocket Of Our Deluxe Deuter Hippack.  The Camera Was Absolutely Easy To use, Understand And Handle During The Power-Kite Flying.  The Day Was Overcast With Large Grey Clouds Moving Slowing Pushed By Northern Winds.  The Images Were Taken With The Sun behind These Grey Clouds.  This Lighting Condition That Clouds Produce Is Reduces Contrast To Our Eyesight.  And Therefore, Also Reduced To Any Camera And Image Media (Film Or Digital).  The Pictures Are Surprisingly Clear And Sharp.  The Clear Image Quality Was Not Expected Since Most Point-And-Shoot Digital Cameras Are Not Capable Of Quality Images In Low Light Conditions.

Any Optics And Cameras Worth testing Should Be Tested In Low Light Conditions, When Flaws And Performance Are Most Easy To Recognize.  Low Quality Glass, Is Basically Melted Sand, And Has Poor Light Conducting Properties, Which Means A High Level of Light Is Needed To Capture A Picture.  Most Common Cameras And Their Lenses Are Made With Glass That Is Inexpensive To Make.  These Lenses Perform Poorly In Low Lighting Conditions.  The Day The Power Kite Was Taken Out For A Field-Testing Training Session, Was A Perfect Opportunity To Test The Value Of This New Digital Camera As A Any Day Lifestyle Companion.  The Lighting Conditions Were Poor, As The Clouds Cover The Sunlight, And The Sun Was Low In The Late Afternoon Sky.  Looking Close At The Grass Blades In The Original Image, Reveals A High Level Of Defined Image Sharpness And Contrast, A Pleasant Surprise For A Point-And-Shoot Digital Camera In These Poor Lighting Conditions!
