How A MSR Stove Works
|
![]() |
How The Shaker Jet WorksThe Burner Jet Controls The Rate Of Fuel Flow Into The Stove's Mixer Tube, But For This To Happen, The Opening of the jet must be extremely small. Unvaporized and solidified fuel particles can cause havoc on such a small gateway, but MSR's Shaker Jet solves this dilemma. A weighted needle nests inside the jet and when the stove is on, fuel will flow around this needle. When the stove is not in use, this needle will push any debris through the jet's opening with a simple upside-down shake—thus the “Shaker Jet” name.

How the DragonFly WorksThe DragonFly is unparalleled in its flame control because of the innovative CoolFuel Valve. This valve precisely controls the hot fuel vapor at the burner, creating an immediate, full-range flame response with a turn of the flame adjuster. |

An Isobutane SeminarDifferent Fuels In A Mixed-Fuel-Canister Burn At Different Times Over The Life Of The Canister; Beginning With High-Pressure Propane And Ending With Lower Pressure Fuels Like Isobutane And N-Butane. Canisters Containing Isobutane, Like MSR IsoPro, Will Consistently Perform At A Higher Level Throughout The Life Of The Canister Than Fuel Mixtures Containing N-Butane. This Is Do To The Fact That Isobutane Has A Higher Vapor Pressure Than N-Butane. |

*Burn and boil times for 1 quart of water for comparison purposes only. Tests performed using a 22-oz Fuel Bottle at 20 psi, and starting water temperature of 70F (21C). Water boiled numbers based on using an MSR 8oz IsoPro canister or MSR 6oz IsoButane canister. Actual burn times may vary depending on altitude, fuel bottle pressure and other factors.
