Underwater a diver must monitor several gauges to receive the crucial information about the dive: depth, time, tank pressure, breathing supply consumption, decompression status and direction to name just a few.   Suunto D9 combines all dive-critical information in one instrument, conveniently mounted on your wrist.  Instead of monitoring a multitude of gauges, you can concentrate on what is important - diving.

Deeper Understanding

Instead of monitoring information from several sources, Suunto D9 provides you with all the crucial information from a single source, conveniently mounted on your wrist.
 

D9 Presentation

The integrated digital compass can be accessed from both DIVE and TIME modes, and provides a graphical compass rose display and numerically displayed bearings. Bearings can be locked, and visual aids are provided for navigating set courses or for pattern navigation. Headings can be stored in the memory for later analysis using the memory functions or the PC interface.

Suunto D9 can be used with the optional Suunto Wireless Transmitter. When enabled it provides the diver with tank pressure and air-time information, as well as a tank pressure bar graph. Real-time tank pressure data is stored in the memory, and can be later analyzed using the memory or PC interface functions.

Three different operating modes are available: Air, Nitrox and Gauge.

The air mode is for diving with standard air, whereas the nitrox mode provides an option for using up to three different gas mixes during the dive.

The gauge mode has several applications, such as for freediving. The profile-sampling rate can be set to as low as 1s, and the ascent rate monitoring can be disabled. The gauge mode also provides a dual display stopwatch, which allows the timing of underwater activities to the second. The maximum depth display of Suunto D9 is 200m/660ft.

Suunto D9 provides the user with an option to use traditional safety-stops, or to use deep stops. The deep stops are calculated iteratively throughout the dive, and the deep stop time can be set to 1 or 2min.  The decompression calculations are based on the Suunto RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubble Model).

The matrix display provides outstanding possibilities for post-dive analysis of the recorded information. In the memory mode the actual dive profile is graphically displayed, together with real time depth, time, tank pressure and temperature data. Locked compass bearings are also displayed in the profile.

The housing of Suunto D9 is made of titanium, with some stainless steel inserts. The display is made of scratch resistant mineral crystal glass, and the pressure rating is 20atm.

Suunto D9 comes with a USB-compatible PC-interface and the new Suunto Dive Manager 2.0 software.

	Active Dive Display Current Tank Pressure is 44bar, Remaining Air Time Is 4 Minutes, Depth Is 13.8 m Cylinder Pressure Warnings Going Off!  Pressure Display Is Blinking And There Is An Audible Alarm!
	Ascent Rate Indicator.  Audible alarm, activated backlight and a blinking full ascent rate bar graph indicate that ascent rate is more than 10 m/min [33 ft/min].  This is a caution to slow down! STOP sign means that you are advised to make a Mandatory Safety Stop when you reach a depth of 6 m [20 ft].
