The 'Track' Feature Creates A Dotted-Line Electronic-Trail On The Map Screen Using The GPSPlotter, Which Plots, Logs And Displays The User's Position As The User Moves; Producing A 'Track Log'. A Track Log Contains Information About Points Along The Track Including The Time, Position And Elevation Of The Point. A Logged Point Within A Track Is Referred To As A TrackPoint.
Track Feature Benefits: 1) Record Your Traveled Path For a Given Time And Place And Save It For Later Reference 2) Measure The Area Of Any Space Encompassed With A Track (Start And End At The Same Point Moving Around The Area To Measure. 3) Retrace Your Path In Either Direction. Return To Your Starting Point. Return To The Path From Either Point And Retrace The Path. 4) Map A Path, Trail, Or The Route Taken For Later Use Or To Publish; Share.
Calculate Area With The 'Track Log' Page Displayed, And The 'Track Log' Is 'On', Press The Menu Key, Select 'Area Calculation' And Press 'Enter'. Press 'Start' And begin To Move And Define The Area's Boundaries. When The Boundaries Are Completely Traced, Press The Screen-Button 'Stop'. At This Point The Area Will Be Displayed In A Data Field At The Bottom Of The Track Map Page. When Finished, The Track Can Be Saved By Pressing The 'Save' Button.
Track Profile A 'Track Elevation Profile' Can Be Created From Digital Elevation Models (DEM) Maps, Which Include Elevation Data Contained In The Map Data. This Map Data Is Made Available In Garmin's MapSource U.S. Topo 24K CD-ROMs. To Create A Track Profile, The User Must Be Located Within The Geographic Area Covered By The DEM Map Data Loaded Into The eTrex Legend C. A 'Track Profile' Page Will Display When The User Selects "Profile".
1) TracBack 1) From the 'Saved Tracks' Page for the Track or the Track Log, select 'TracBack' button and press ENTER to display the 'TracBack' Page.2) A map showing the entire track appears with the on-screen prompt 'Select the point you want to TracBack to'. Use the small joystick to move the Arrow to the desired point on the map and press ENTER to start navigating with 'TracBack'. |
AutoRouting Basemap Is A Form Of Artificial Intelligence, Which Can Calculate a Route Based On Actual Street Information. The Garmin eTrex Legend C Can Create A Route Following Streets And Walking Paths From The Basemap, When The Required Data Has Been Preloaded By The User. This AutoRouting Data Is Made Available For Most Major Developed Populated Areas Of The World And Is Available On Garmin MapSource CD-ROMs. MapSource Data Collections, Represents The Most Advanced Technology Available.

CASANOVA'S TIP: When replacing batteries, use only new, fresh or fully charged batteries. Do Not mix battery types (Alkaline, NiMH, Lithium, NiCD, etc.). Do Not Mix Battery Capacities (750mAh, 1,500mAh, 2300mAh, etc.).
