Garmin's World Basemap System Provides An Earth Referenced World
Map. This Means, Earth Features Are Shown On The Image And
Calibrated To A Scale And Earth Coordinate Grid Systems; As
Selected By The User. The Internationally Universal Grid
Being UTM.
The Image Above, Is The Actual Basemap Data, Captured From A
GPSMAP 76, At The Screen Size of 180 x 240 Pixels. Note:
When Viewed On The GPSMAP 76, This Map Would Appear In High
Definition Grade Shades. The Gray Shading Is Produced By
The LCD Display.
The Data Fields On This Page Can Be Arranged And Selected By The
User, Or Not Displayed. |
Record Page
This Is The View Of A Signal Record From The Built-In Database.
The Database Holds User Entered Waypoints, Locations, And Points
Of Interest.
At The Bottom Of The Page Are Three Buttons: 'Goto', 'Map' and
'Ok'. Clicking On 'OK' Takes You Back To The Previous Vied
page. Clicking On 'Map' Displays The Position On The Map
Page. Pressing 'Goto' Starts The Rout Calculating Feature. |

Nearest Cities Database This Is The List View Of The Built In City
Waypoint Database. This Feature Will List The Cities Near
The Present GPS Fixed Location. Distance From The Current
GPs Fix Is Displayed For Every City.
Scroll To The City And press 'Enter'.

The Waypoint Record For That City is
Displayed, Providing The Option To View It On The Map, Or Begin
The Automatic Routing Feature, Which Will Calculate A Route To
Follow To Get To This City's Waypoint Position. |
Pointer Page / Trip Computer Display

The Pointer Page Is Used By The Navigation Software To To
Indicate Direction With Compass Heading Information. This
Arrow Will Display A Direction To Follow, Or The System Will
Display The Arrow Pointed In The Direction That The Current GPS
Was Was From The Last GPS Fix. By The User Moving, The Arrow
Would Point In The Direction Of Movement Calculated between GPS
Fixes.
This Is
Not A Magnetic Compass! This Feature Is Simply Providing A
Pointing Aid; A Guide Pointing.
