The
Extraordinary Blade Of The Highest Caliber, Our New Boker Damascus Superior
Chef's Trophy Knife, Is Made Of A Four-Band Torsion Damascus
And A Separately Forged Damascus Cutting Edge, Made
Exclusively By The German Damascus Forger Andreas Henrichs With A Fascinating Precision For Boker
-----
Part Of
The Casanova Collection ------ Fit For A King Or Chief
In An
Extremely Intricate Process, Individual Damascus Bands
Are Welded Into One Large Damascus Band. This Four-Sided
Damascus Band Is Then Twisted 15 Times, To Create A Unique
Pattern Of The 300 Layers Of Torsion Damascus. Four
Of These Twisted Torsion Damascus Bands And A Fifth
Strap, Made Of Non-Twisted Damascus, Are Then Welded And
Forged Into A Damascus Pack.
The Result
Of This Time-Consuming And Strenuous Crafted Process Is
A Blade Blank With Extraordinary Structure And Solidity. The
Arrangement Of The Non-Twisted Cutting Edge Ensures A Homogenous
Edge And Guarantees Outstanding Cutting
Performance.
The Damascus expert Andreas Henrichs produces this
exquisite material and delivers the raw material for one
of the most exclusive and highest performance cutting
tools for kitchen use.
In the Boker knife manufactory in Solingen, Germany, the
blanks are made into a complete knife using more than
150 working steps.
This technique of Damascus fabrication originated in
Europe and was used in the Middle Ages to create high
performance sword blades for nobility. Swords with
Torsion Damascus blades were so desired that history
shows that the Vikings conducted raids into these areas
to capture these blades.
For the handle, we use African Grenadill wood, whose
nearly black and intricate grain blends into the noble
blade. The weight of this Grenadill wood provides an
excellent balance to the knife. With its high content of
oil it is naturally moisture resistant, a reason that it
became the first choice when producing premium wooden
wind instruments.
The handle is framed by two Damascus bolsters and a
Damascus end cap, both manufactured of 300 layers of
stainless steel Damascus. The handles are individually
hand fitted to the blade, and provide a visual
presentation worthy of a piece of art.
The Boker Damascus Superior unites history and the
highest level of the forging process with a fascinating look and
feel, serving as the ultimate masterpiece, and trophy for the
passionate chef.
