'ALL TOPO MAPS: GPS'

The 'GPS Tool', Provides The Necessary Interface Between The USGS Topo Map And A Standard GPS Receiver System. ALL TOPO MAPS Works In Real Time With The GPS Data Received From A Standard GPS Device. The GPS Tool Can Also Be Used To Move Waypoint, Route And Track Data Between A GPS Device With A Standard Data Port And Any PC Data Storage Media; Such As A Floppy Disk, CD-R, DVD-R Disc.

'ALL TOPO MAPS: GPS' Compatibility

This Application Enables The User To Upload And Download Waypoints And Route Files Directly Between: A Current Running Session Of The 'ALL TOPO MAPS:' Application; From GPS Device Directly To Any Digital Storage Media Connected To The PC; And To GPS-Receiver Devices Which Have A NMEA External Data Port, Or The Garmin USB Port.

Data Transfers Can Be Done Using NMEA, Or Some Brand Data Formats: Garmin Serial Port And USB Ported Devices, Original Magellan Corp Serial Ported Devices/Global Magelland Brand/Thales Magellan Brand Generation, And The New Current Magellan Company Next generation Devices; And Lowrance GPS Receivers With A Serial Port, That Were And Are Marketed Un The Following Brand Names: LSI/Lowrance/Eagle/Brunton.

Working With, 'All TOPO Maps: GPS Tool'

While working in the ALL TOPO MAPS program, start the 'GPS Tool' by selecting it from the 'Tools' menu.

Example PC view:

From The PC 'Windows' desktop, go to 'Start' Menu, then 'All Topo Maps:'  then select 'All Topo Maps: GPS'. The program starts and displays the following window:

ALL TOPO MAPS: Provides Real-Time Moving map Position Indicator And Tracking When Connected To A NMEA Serial Port On A Active GPS Receiver Outputting The Following NMEA Data Sentences:

The All Topo Maps GPS tool has been extensively tested with these Magellan receivers:

• GPS 315, GPS 320, XL2000, XL4000, GPS Tracker

Cursory testing has also been performed on all newer devices  (Meridian, Sport Track) with serial ports. No problems have been encountered.

Lowrence LSI / Eagle

The All Topo Maps GPS tool has been extensively tested with these LSI/Eagle receivers:

• Eagle Explorer, GlobalNav 12, GlobalNav 212, GlobalNav 310, GlobalMap

The serial port on the iFinder does not support upload/download.

BRUNTON

The All Topo Maps GPS tool has been extensively tested with this Brunton receiver:

• The Brunton MNS, Atlas MNS
• The serial port on the AtlasGPS does not support upload/download.
