First Look - Vibra Target Probe
With Pulse Technology
We just received a unit from the manufacturer today and will give our first impressions. The probe comes with a simple instructional reference sheet. The high quality holster provided by the probe's manufacturers is a great asset and well designed.
First Impressions: this unit has the feel and look of quality and professionalism. The rubber handle is large enough to fit naturally in the palm of the hand. The handle is covered with a comfortable feeling rubber cushion layer.
The probe's handle is hollowed at the end where a standard 9-volt Alkaline battery is housed. The handle is sealed with a specially designed watertight sealing knob. The end-knob is large enough for easy turning with one hand and features a lanyard hole.
The unit makes a slight sound; this is do to the mechanics inside that causes the vibration. The vibration is easy to detect and at a comfortable level while holding; but not extreme.
There is a label on the unit that gives the basic operational instructions. Not much to the operation. Hold it upright, the unit turns on. Now search the loose soil in the hole you just made with your trowel. We highly recommend investing in a high quality recovery trowel. With some practice and use, you will spend more time searching than digging for those small treasures!
It's raining today and its a cold Wisconsin day. Yes, this probe is waterproof, but it's too cold for a field test today. A long time customer of Casanova's and myself will be taking the probe out for a day of park searching. We have been researching old city maps for old Milwaukee County parks to search while field testing.
