PINGERS
Pingers are devices that generate acoustic signals underwater. They are used to mark an underwater site or piece of equipment so a returning diver, using a pinger receiver, can locate the exact spot. Pingers are available with different transmit frequencies so several can be deployed in the same general area without interference from each other. The diver adjusts his pinger receiver to the frequency of the desired pinger and the receiver leads him directly to it.
JW Fishers family of commercial grade pingers include both the Single Frequency Pinger (SFP1) and the Multifrequency Pinger (MFP1). The SFP1 is available in several frequencies one of which is specified at time of order (22, 32, 40, or 50kHz). The MFP1 has user selectable frequencies from 20 to 50 kHz in 500 Hz increments. The operator selects one of 60 different frequencies before deploying the pinger. Many pingers can be deployed in the same general area, each broadcasting at a different frequency. This enables a diver with a pinger receiver to pinpoint the exact location of each pinger without interference from the other pingers.
Fishers pingers are very flexible allowing the operator to select the number of pulses per second, the length of each pulse, and the output power. The length of each pulse and output power adjustments allow the operator to adjust the distance the pingers can be detected. With the MFP1 the transmission frequency can be selected by the operator before deployment. These features make the SFP1 and the MFP1 extremely versatile and the first choice for almost any application.
Power for the pingers is supplied by two standard alkaline 9 volt batteries which last from a few days to many months, depending on battery quality, output power and pulse selection. For long durations lithium batteries can be used. A longer housing is also available which holds six batteries to give 3 times the normal operating time. The pinger can be automatically activated when put in the water or manually activated with a switch.
JW-FISHERS PINGER
Two Types Offered --- A Single Frequency and Multiple Frequency Models. The SFP-1 single frequency pinger transmits only one frequency. One of four transmit frequencies can be specified at time of order. The MFP-1 multifrequency pinger has user selectable band of 60 different frequencies. The advantage of MFP-1 is that several pingers can be deployed in the same area and the diver can quickly and easily locate each one individually.
JW-FISHERS PINGER RECEIVER
PR-1 Pinger Receiver can locate any pinger transmitting a frequency between 3 and 97 KHz. When the receiver is tuned to the desired frequency and pointed in the direction of the pinger, and audio signal is emitted from the underwater earphone and an LED light bar flashes indicating the pinger has been located. A compass mounted on top of the PR-1 provides the diver with the precise heading to the target. As he approaches the pinger the audio alarm increases in volume and more LEDs illuminate on the light bar.

The PR-1 is a highly advanced
Pinger receiver that will
quickly locate any Pinger operating from 3-97kHz. It can
be operated as a diver-held receiver or can be deployed
from a boat.
The system is easy to operate. The receiver is tuned to
the desired pinger frequency and the diver scans the
area. When the diver points in the direction of the
pinger, the pinger can be clearly heard in the earphone
and the LED light bar also flashes that the pinger has
been detected. The sensitivity of the receiver is then
reduced and the diver obtains a precise heading to the
pinger. By looking at the compass, mounted on top of the
receiver, the diver can determine the exact compass
heading to the pinger.
As the diver swims closer to the pinger, the audio tone
gets louder and the light bar flashes more LEDs
indicating the received signal is getting stronger.
If more than one
pinger is operating in the area, the diver can switch
the receiver tuning (illuminated digital readout) to the
new frequency and repeat the above procedure.
The receiver is powered by a nicad battery pack that
will operate for 30 continuous hours before needing
recharging. Two chargers are provided. One charger
operates from 120 vac and the other from a 12 vdc
car/boat battery.
Fishers pinger receiver is ruggedly built for commercial
operations and is covered by a full TWO YEAR WARRANTY.
