Made from 600 den Polyester thread and with a thick PU coating, this multi-purpose fabric is robust and lightweight.  It is most suitable for high quality hiking backpacks and crossover packs, used in average conditions to keep the weight to a minimum.

Deuter's Airstripes is a ventilated carrying system especially developed for mountain bikers.  It consists of two contoured foam stripes covered by a highly breathable mesh.  The design of the Airstripes back system ensures free air circulation to about 80% of the user's back.    The air channel between the foam stripes starts an instant chimney effect, where body heat rises and escapes from the top, while refreshing cooler air enters from the bottom and drawn up over the back.  Simple Laws Of Physics.

Advantage: Noticeable ventilation that keeps the back supplied with fresh air, even in case of strenuous exertion with the additional effect of being gentile on the spinal column.   The moldable aluminum 'stays' allow for a form fitting pack, that fits into the curvature of the back, giving a more natural feeling, secure stable load packing performance.
