POWER STROKE? FRAME

The Power Stroke? Series skates have a nylon frame with a new
technological innovation designed to increase the versatility of
the skate. A urethane compression block inside the frame allows
the front wheel to articulate. The advantages are fantastic:
The Stride: the stride is elongated as the front two
wheels stay in contact with the surface longer which increases a
skater's efficiency and power, hence the name Power Stroke.
The Turn: by shifting the skater's weight forward in the
initiation phase of the turn, the turning radius is decreased.
Maintaining the weight forward creates an automatic rockering.
This feature also assists in skating backwards.
The Suspension: combined with the Tecnica patented AVS
system, the articulated nose wheel further smooths bumps as the
skater encounters uneven surfaces.
The frames are laterally adjustable for balance and alignment.
10. POWER STROKE? SERIES WHEELS
The PS Series skates feature Hyper wheels which
use specially formulated urethanes depending on the end use for
the best performance. The cores are designed to give wheels
additional performance, extend bearing life, provide wheel
stability, and lighten the weight of the wheel.
MAINTENANCE
Bearings: Bearings will get dirty from
exposure to water, dust and other elements and should be cleaned.
Tecnica bearings are fully serviceable. Remove the bearings from
the wheels and remove the shields from the bearings. Wash all dirt
and grease from the bearing with a solvent and toothbrush. Allow
the bearing to dry. Add new lubricant and reassemble the bearing.
Your local retailer can either do this for you, or provide the
necessary supplies.
Wheels: The wheels will show wear with
frequent use. It is advisable that once the wear is visible to
rotate and switch the position of the wheels. Switching the first
with the third and the second with the fourth and turning them so
the inside becomes the outside, will lengthen the life of the
wheel.
Brakes: Tecnica skates have a normal
heel brake with a rubber pad. The brake can be mounted on either
the left skate or the right. (NO BRAKE ON CT R)
The rubber pad should be replaced when worn to
the wear indicator line (or not beyond the third rib). The brake
should be inspected for loose screws. To change the pad, remove
the screw from inside the pad, insert the screw into a new pad and
reattach it to the brake bracket.
General Cleaning:
Shell: The shell should be cleaned with a mild detergent
and water.
Liner: The liners can be removed from the shell to dry.
They can be washed by hand with a mild detergent and allowed to
air dry.
General Care:
- Do not expose the skates to high
temperatures (the trunk of your car for example). The wheels
and shells can be deformed and the heat can bake the lube
right out of your bearings.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. UV
radiation attacks polymers, so store the skates out of direct
sunlight.
- Store skates with the buckles closed. This
helps the plastic retain its shape.
11. BEARINGS AND
SPACERS
ABEC 5 & 3 bearings are used for their precision and
quality. The hardened and ground chrome steel races and balls
combine with a temperature and corrosion resistant, low viscosity
grease for high speed. The shields are easily removable to
facilitate cleaning and lubricating.
The Elite Spacer System designed by Tecnica allows the aluminum
spacers to be self centering making it easier to rotate the
wheels.
WHEELS
Kryptonics Optic Urethane was formulated to provide an
optically clear urethane with greater abrasion resistance and
resilience than ever before. The combination has produced a faster
and longer lasting wheel.
The new Rev Core, the lightest yet strongest core available was
designed to maximize velocity while minimizing deflection. The
wheels in the CT Series skates are from the Kryptonics Adrenaline
Series. |
