TWIN CORE / SOFT TOP FEATURES

Features Explained
1. LINERS

Particular attention has been paid to the liner. Careful selection of materials, liner design, and shell design have been combined to ensure excellent breath ability. All liners are built on an anatomically correct last to achieve a fit that is unequaled in in-line skates. All women's skates liners are anatomically lasted to the anatomy of the female foot.

CT FIT Liner: CT 7, CT 5, CT 5 L

Features a highly perforated, open cell foam with polypropylene, nylon and a brushed PVC. Features the FIT System Tongue and a Velcro Power Strap that integrates with the shell to ensure that the liner and shell cuff flex together properly. The liner has a second vamp which creates the framework for a mesh ventilation system. This system actually pumps air through the boot while skating.

CT Liner: CT 1, CT 1 L

Features a highly perforated, open cell foam with polypropylene, nylon and a brushed PVC. The TecSoft Perforated system allows excellent breath ability and ventilation. The tongues are anatomically asymmetric for fit and comfort.

PS Liners: PS 7, PS 7 L, PS 5, PS 5 L, PS 3, PS 3 L

Features a perforated, open cell foam with polypropylene and nylon. The TecSoft Perforated system allows excellent breathability and ventilation. The tongues are anatomically asymmetric for fit and comfort.

2. F.I.T. SYSTEM: CT 7, CT 5, CT 5 L

THE F.I.T. System, Floating Integrated Tongue, consists of a liner with a special tongue that floats forward and back with the movement of the leg.
This greatly reduces the pressure point in the front of the shin and allows you to maintain a tighter closure without discomfort.

3. FASTENINGS / CLOSURE SYSTEMS

Tecnica skates have a One-Touch buckle system or a combination of a cuff buckle with a Speed Lock Lace lower. The laces offer a locking mechanism that maintains the tight closure while tying. Both systems are durable, effective and easy to use.

6. CARBONTECH POWERCORE

The Carbontech Powercore is a Carbon Modified Polymer stiffening platform that is molded into the lower portion of the shell. This produces a lightweight yet very rigid "frame" inside the lower shell to eliminate flex and twist.

7. A.V.S. Anti-Vibration System

The A.V.S. system that was developed for skates has produced the first truly suspended skate.

The frame is suspended below the shell and allowed to move up and down relative to the shell. There is a special formulated elastomer inserted between the shell and the frame. This functions much like the springs in your car's suspension and absorbs most of the roads generated vibrations.

There are also three towers that rise through the shell. On top of these three towers is a floating sole plate that supports the heel of the foot, enhancing comfort like a seat cushion in your car.

These elements combine to reduce vibration significantly, thereby reducing fatigue on the leg muscles and improving the ability to control the skate.

CROSS TRAINING SERIES

8. FRAMES

The entire CT line has aluminum frames. These frames have been designed and constructed to provide the maximum resistance to torsion, flex, vibration, and impact while maintaining a minimum in weight. All frames are laterally adjustable for balance and alignment.

10. POWER STROKE? SERIES

POWER STROKE? FRAME

The Power Stroke? Series skates have a nylon frame with a new technological innovation designed to increase the versatility of the skate. A urethane compression block inside the frame allows the front wheel to articulate. The advantages are fantastic:

The Stride: the stride is elongated as the front two wheels stay in contact with the surface longer which increases a skater's efficiency and power, hence the name Power Stroke.

The Turn: by shifting the skater's weight forward in the initiation phase of the turn, the turning radius is decreased. Maintaining the weight forward creates an automatic rockering. This feature also assists in skating backwards.

The Suspension: combined with the Tecnica patented AVS system, the articulated nose wheel further smooths bumps as the skater encounters uneven surfaces.

The frames are laterally adjustable for balance and alignment.

10. POWER STROKE? SERIES WHEELS

The PS Series skates feature Hyper wheels which use specially formulated urethanes depending on the end use for the best performance. The cores are designed to give wheels additional performance, extend bearing life, provide wheel stability, and lighten the weight of the wheel.

MAINTENANCE

Bearings: Bearings will get dirty from exposure to water, dust and other elements and should be cleaned. Tecnica bearings are fully serviceable. Remove the bearings from the wheels and remove the shields from the bearings. Wash all dirt and grease from the bearing with a solvent and toothbrush. Allow the bearing to dry. Add new lubricant and reassemble the bearing. Your local retailer can either do this for you, or provide the necessary supplies.

Wheels: The wheels will show wear with frequent use. It is advisable that once the wear is visible to rotate and switch the position of the wheels. Switching the first with the third and the second with the fourth and turning them so the inside becomes the outside, will lengthen the life of the wheel.

Brakes: Tecnica skates have a normal heel brake with a rubber pad. The brake can be mounted on either the left skate or the right. (NO BRAKE ON CT R)

The rubber pad should be replaced when worn to the wear indicator line (or not beyond the third rib). The brake should be inspected for loose screws. To change the pad, remove the screw from inside the pad, insert the screw into a new pad and reattach it to the brake bracket.

General Cleaning:
Shell: The shell should be cleaned with a mild detergent and water.
Liner: The liners can be removed from the shell to dry. They can be washed by hand with a mild detergent and allowed to air dry.

General Care:

  • Do not expose the skates to high temperatures (the trunk of your car for example). The wheels and shells can be deformed and the heat can bake the lube right out of your bearings.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. UV radiation attacks polymers, so store the skates out of direct sunlight.
  • Store skates with the buckles closed. This helps the plastic retain its shape.

11. BEARINGS AND SPACERS

ABEC 5 & 3 bearings are used for their precision and quality. The hardened and ground chrome steel races and balls combine with a temperature and corrosion resistant, low viscosity grease for high speed. The shields are easily removable to facilitate cleaning and lubricating.
The Elite Spacer System designed by Tecnica allows the aluminum spacers to be self centering making it easier to rotate the wheels.

WHEELS

Kryptonics Optic Urethane was formulated to provide an optically clear urethane with greater abrasion resistance and resilience than ever before. The combination has produced a faster and longer lasting wheel.
The new Rev Core, the lightest yet strongest core available was designed to maximize velocity while minimizing deflection. The wheels in the CT Series skates are from the Kryptonics Adrenaline Series.
