Dew Shields: In warmer moist climates, water particles suspended in the atmosphere, will condense on the front glass surface of the telescope. This dew formation, may be reduced significantly by the addition of a Dew Shield essentially.

Electronic Focusers

Electric Focusers: Meade electric focusers are uniquely designed to yield smooth, precise micro-focusing adjustment, without disabling the manual focus knob, which may be used for rapid coarse focusing.

 

An electronic focuser provides the user with a remote focusing control, thereby allowing focus without touching the telescope. This is required when viewing objects at high magnification without the unstable shack caused by touching the telescope. Remember, the magnification power of the objective lens also magnifies the effects the movement of the telescope; making it almost impossible to use when you are touching it.

#1206 Electronic Focuser LX200 Meade Telescopes

For Use With LX200 Meade Telescopes. A Must Have tool! At the extremely high magnification levels, the depth of field becomes very shallow. This means the focal plane, (the distantness in focus), is very small and it becomes practically impossible to get a fine focus by use of your hand.

 

A precision digital-turning servo motor is used to move the focus dial at a precise amount of turn for each digital signal from the computer. With this precise control, the user can focus on a precise distance.

Variable Tele-Extender

Variable Tele-Extender: When photographing the Moon and planets through any Meade LX-Series telescope eyepiece, a Tele-Extender is required.

The Variable Tele-Extender threads onto the telescope's eyepiece-holder, into which is inserted an eyepiece of typically about 26mm focal length; the 35mm camera body couples to the Tele-Extender by means of a T-Mount. The Meade Variable Tele-Extender permits a range of projection magnifications.

The #777 Off-Axis Guider provides a way for the photographer to monitor the tracking of the telescope, during long-exposure astrophotography, to assure that the telescope remains precisely positioned on the object being photographed.

Like the T-Adapter, the Guider couples the camera body to the telescope but it also causes a small amount of the guidestar's incoming light to be diverted at a right angle, where the star's position can be examined for tracking errors, with an illuminated reticule eyepiece; position corrections can then be effected, using the telescope's hand controller, or drive corrector.
