SUUNTO ACTIVITY MANAGER FEATURES
With SAM you can manage the log files
recorded with Suunto X6 or Suunto X6HR.
There are three different types of logs:
Chrono logs with detailed profile, Hiking
logs with up to one week duration and
Weather logs that are automatically stored
in the weather memory. When the data has
been transferred, you can organize, view and
add related information to it easily with
SAM.
The log files are organized in folders that
you can create simply with one button click.
You can for instance create folders for each
of your sports activity, for a specific trip
or for several users if you are using the
same PC together with other people. You can
sort the logs by date, duration, altitude
and by many other parameters, move the logs
between folders and delete them. When the
amount of information grows, you may also
find the search function useful.
You can examine the log information by
creating graphs from it or by opening a list
of the values of individual data samples.
All Chrono logs include the altitude
profile. The Weather logs show the
development of sea level barometric pressure
and temperature during the last 48 hours
before downloading. The Hiking logs show the
headline values of a hike with a maximum of
one week continuous recording plus the
information of ten waypoints stored during
recording.
To make your log files complete reports of
your activity, you can add bookmarks to a
graph. A bookmark contains text and image
attached to a specific point of the graph,
for example a photograph of the highest peak
of your trek and a description of the place
in words.
To analyze the data in the logs, you can
open several logs at the same time. This
makes it possible to compare the graphs of
different logs, for instance to visualize
your development on your favorite running
loop. The Analyze tool displays bar diagrams
of multiple logs to visualize the statistics
of your training in different altitude
zones. It can also summarize your training
time in different sports on daily, weekly,
monthly and annual basis. The analysis
results are displayed as 3-D diagrams that
you can rotate on the screen.
