CASANOVA UnBottle FIELD TEST
2005 EAA Fly-In Experimental
Aircraft Air Show!
Casanova's Field Equipment Expert
Field Tested At 2005 EAA Oshkosh Wisconsin
International Fly-In Event. This Pack
Worked Out Perfect Attached To The Backside Of
Best Choice In backpacks For A Hot Summer Day!
The Water Supply Was Enough For The Full Day of
Summer Heat! This Hydration Worked Out
While Walking Around Photographing
Experimental Aircraft And Simply Enjoying The
Air Show. Drinking On The Move Was With No
Hassle Or Worry! The Only Bad Part Was The
Water Which Had Been Placed Into The Hydration
System Before The 1 Hour Drive In The Heat, Came Out
Of The Reservoir Tasting Awful And Undrinkable!
The Filtered Water Had To be Dumped! This
Makes This Reservoir Not A Good Choice Where Water
Must Be Transported Or Stored Over A Hour Or More,
And Definitely In Any Heat!
2nd System Tested Same
Day - On The Same Day, Jack Casanova Was Field
Testing The Platypus Hydration System And Found It
Held Water Perfectly And Did Not Leach Any Taste
Into The Water The Entire Day; Including The 1 Hour
Drive.
The Final Results:
Good: The Unique
UnBottle From CamelBak Offers User Convince In Speed
Of Use Being That It Is a Self Contained System With
Anchor Points And Protective Shell All-In-One.
The 4 anchor points made it easy to attach this
hydration system to the back side of the suspension
net-back-panel of a Deuter day pack. That
rigging allow the pack to hold video camera,
batteries, digital photography camera, batteries,
and our Brunton Hard-Shell Packing Solar-Charger.
Bad: It Produced The
Worst Tasting Water Of The Packs Tested, To The
Point The Water Was Undrinkable And Wasted Filtered
Water And Preloading Time. If This Was a Critical
Application We Would Have Been Forced To Drink Water
That Tasted Like Chemicals Were Mixed In - Leaching
Plastic Chemicals?

August 2005 Field Test
On Deck Of A Hurricane Kayak
The CamelBak UnBottle
Was A Perfect Fit For The Rear Deck Elastic-Cord
Cargo Net Rigging Provided On The Hurricane Kayak.
The Drink Tube Reached From The Hydration System,
Lying On The Deck, Over The Shoulder And Clipped
Safely To The Floatation Vest. Being Able To
Constantly Sip Water As Advised By Our Personal
Nutritionist Wendy, I Had New Stamina And Was Able
To Paddle Across The Lake And Back. At A Normal
Pace, I Was Able To Achieve 12 Miles Per Hour As
Reported By Our ForeTrex Kayaking GPS Device,
Clipped To The Top Of The Shoulder Of The Floatation
Vest.
Good: The Unique
UnBottle From CamelBak Offers User Convince In Speed
Of Use Being That It Is a Self Contained System With
Anchor Points And Protective Shell All-In-One.
The Anchor Points Worked Perfect And The Overall
System worked perfect for the day - keeping water
drinkable and at hand whenever needed during actual
paddling. There was no need to use hands once
the drink value was located with the added drink
tube clip accessory. We recommend adding drink
tube clips hose positioning accessories. The
webbing handle made the pack easy to carry and
handle the entire day, specially when reaching down
to the deck of the kayak to anchor it in place.
Bad: This was the same
hydration system used weeks before during our EAA
Fly-In field test. There was a slight bad
taste from the drink tube which was easy enough to
spit out on the first sip.

2005 UnBottle Review
Results
After Several Real Life Applications Of The Same
UnBottle, Here Are Our Expert Opinions:
Good:
1) The
Self-Contained Concept Makes It Fast To Grab At A
Moment's Notice - Fill And Use, Without
Reconfiguring. Dropped into backpacks with
ease with the bonus of the protective shell --- No
Worries Of Damaging Or Causing Abrasions To The Very
Valuable Drinking-Water Reservoir!
2) The Large
Opening Makes It Fast To Fill, Ice Cubes Can Easily
Fit, Fast Dumping Out Water, And When Using The
CamelBak Drying Rack, The Inside Can Be Cleaned And
Dried Properly - Which Stops Mildew From Destroying
The System And Causing Health Issues - As What
Happens With Any Drink Container That Cannot Be
Cleaned And Dried Completely Inside!
3) Built-In
Shell = The Shell Is Made Of a High Grade Cordura
Material That Is Rotproof and waterproof. The
Shell Provides Abrasion, Purchase And UV Light
Protection, Plus Adds A Thermal Insulating Property.
4) 4 Point
Anchor D Rings - strong lightweight high-grade
composite-plastic-material D-rings provide excellent
anchoring points at the well thought-out critical
points to hold the dynamic fluid mass in place while
activity pursuing your activity!
Bad:
1) The Worst Awful
Tasting Water From Any Reservoir During Heat And
Storage Over 1-Hour. If Time Is a Factor, And
Ultimate Reliable Drinking Water Is Critical, We
Recommend Platypus Or Deuter; Deuter Being The
Ultimate Test Results For Reliability, Durability
And Most Important >>>> Clear Tasteless Drinkable
Water After Days Of Storage!
